This movie is Hellboy, which my mom and my dad watched all the time to the point that I have most of the movie memorized. The movie is great it you enjoy action packed thriller, with a paranormal twist. The movie was based off of comic books about a hero, who hunts monsters. Hellboy is a wonderful movie, not really for kids though (it might scare them). The movie is in my perspective of want I remember about it.

The movie starts off in WWII, people who worked for Hitler are trying to bring something to this world that would help them win the war. When soldiers came to see what paranormal things were going on this island, they stumble on the nazis opening a portal. The nazis open a portal, then a big fight breaks lose and then Rasputin gets sucked into the closing portal. After the battle, the army (not nazis), are sure that something came out of the portal before it closed. They found a little red devil boy/child with one hand made of stone. They named him Hellboy.

Hellboy hunts monsters and is to remain a secret. Hellboy also grows at a slow rate. It has been 60 years since he has came out of the portal, but he around the age and strength of a 20 year old. There is also Abe who was found in the 1800’s century around the time Abraham Lincoln was shot, hints the name. Hellboy is in love with a girl who can catch on fire and she is nonflammable, so is Hellboy. Her name is Liz. When she was a child she was made fun of and had rocks thrown at her, until she started to catch on fire and freaking out asking the kids you throw the rocks to help her. Liz put herself in a mental institution, to help her not catch on fire anymore.

Rasputin got out and when to a museum to bring a hellhound to bring Hellboy out. When you kill a hellhound two more will come back. Hellboy did not know that and he kills a couple of hellhounds. Liz comes to help Abe and Hellboy with their Rasputin problem. They end up with Abe very badly injured, and Hellboy got a couple of eggs laid in his arm. They come back, and got the eggs pulled out of Hellboy”s arm. They also had to put Abe in a water tank to make him heal faster, like a hospital.

Rasputin wants to make Hellboy open a portal to hell, to bring in giant squid-like monster to the take over the earth. To do that Hellboy with have to put his stone hand into a “door” that opens up the portal. Hellboy and his team end up in the spot that Rasputin wanted Hellboy to be to open the portal. The way Rasputin made Hellboy open the portal was to take Liz’s soul and put on the other side of the portal or “hell”. Hellboy opens the portal slightly, then closes it to kill Rasputin. After he kill Rasputin there was a giant squid-like monster that came out of him, and Hellboy throw a bomb into it’s mouth. The movie ends with Hellboy and Liz kissing with they are both on fire.

The movie is really good, but a little confusing. It is a great movie to me, and is a great thrill if you like monster movies. I really like hero movies that were based off of comic books. Make sure you read next week's blog it is going to be about Hellboy 2.
