Collinsport

This is a great movie, the movie is based off of a t.v. show. The movie is directed by Tim Burton, in the movie Tim Burton also put a lot of the people who were in the t.v. show in the movie, just a small role. I was ready to see this movie when I saw the first trailer. The movie is mostly for thirteen and up. But, it is a great movie, that is really good or people who like supernatural movies. Supernatural movies with supernatural creatures. I hope you enjoy!

The cast of the movie are Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, who you may know off of The Lone Ranger. Eva Green as Angelique Collins, who you may know off of Penny Dreadful. Chloe Grace Moretz as Carolyn Stoddard, who you may know off of Carrie. Michelle Pfeiffer as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, who you may know off of Hairspray. Helena Bonham Carter as Julia Hoffman, who you may know off of Alice in Wonderland. Bella Heathcote as Victoria Winters, who you may know off of In Time. Jackie Earie Haley as Willie Loomis, who you may know off of Watchmen. Jonny Lee Miller as Roger Collins, who you may know off of Elementary. Gulliver McGrath as David Collins, who you may know off of Hugo. Christopher Lee as Clarney, who you may know off of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Susanna Cappellaro as Naomi Collins, who you may know off of Berberian Sound Studio. Ivan Kaye as Joshua Collins, who you may know off of Hammer of the Gods.

The movie starts in the year 1752, when the Collins family is moving to Maine from Liverpool, England, when Barnabas was just a little kid. The Collins family have always have had a mysterious “curse” that plagued their family. When the Collins family moved to Maine, they started a fisheries. Barnabas Collins is a rich and powerful playboy, that just so happened to lose his mother and father. A witch that fell in love with Barnabas, killed the women he was in love with, and then turned him into a vampire, then locked him in a casket for about 200 years. The Collins family when all down here from that point on. Barnabas Collins was dug up, he killed a lot of working men, then went to go find his family. Barnabas does all he can to bring back the family's wealth and fame of the town, but finds out Angelique replaced Collinsport and she made Angel’s Bay. Lots of other things happen. In the end, there is a house on fire with a dead witch in the house.

A couple of little things you “need” to know about the movie Dark Shadows. Did you know that the set of Dark Shadows was filmed on the set of the older movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Johnny Depp also was obsessed with the T.V. show Dark Shadows when he was a kid. Johnny Depp quoted “A vampire should look like a vampire, and it was a kind of rebel vampires that look like underwear models”, so he was probably taking a stab at Twilight? Tim Burton thought it would be necessary to put so of the original cast of Dark Shadows the T. V. show in the movie, at the ball.

I though this is a great movie, but it would be better with a hotter vampire. Dark Shadows was a great movie with a lot of twists and turns. I would recommend for all people of all ages to watch the movie, just cover the kids eyes every once in awhile. I hope you watch and enjoy the movie. Read what I’ll write about next. It is one of my top favorite movies. It might be about a teenager, who can travel through time, in a time machine designed in a DeLorean.
